Tuesday, October  31, at  St. John of the Cross in Lemon Grove:  Solemn (1962 Rite) Choral Vespers (with assistants in cope), featuring music by Festa, Soriano, and Gabrielli; followed by parish Mass (1970 Rite), featuring the Missa O Quam Gloriosum of Tomás Luis de Victoria; followed by a candle-light procession around the grounds of St. John's, chanting the Gregorian Litany of the Saints. A GLORIOUS way to "Reclaim All Hallow's Eve for Christ!" Kids in costumes are welcome, but NO GHOULS PLEASE. Instead, feel free to dress as a Catholic saint (even if the one you choose has already been martyred!).
Thursday, November 2, at St. Charles Borromeo in Imperial Beach: Requiem Missa Cantata (1962 Rite) for the Commemoration of All Souls. Ordinary will feature the Requiem Mass of Clemens non Papa (ca. 1475) and full Gregorian propers.
