Jan Luyken (1649-1712), The Parable of the Leaven
Sunday, November 17, 15:00 (3:00 PM)

Vespers of the 6th Sunday after the Epiphany (Resumed)
with Benediction
Hebdomadary: Rev. Fr. Eugene Sta.Ana

4080 Hawk St, San Diego, CA 92103

Join us at St. Vincent de Paul church to celebrate  Vespers in Gregorian chant. As the liturgical year approaches its end, the Gospel is focused on parables related to agriculture and domestic life as representations of the Kingdom of God. Then Cardinal Ratzinger interpreted the parable of the leaven that raises the dough in the following way: [..] the Christians were small communities dispersed throughout the world, insignificant according to the secular criteria. In reality, they were the leaven that penetrates the meal from within and they carried within themselves the future of the world.
