December 8: Mass of the Immaculate Conception

The Immaculate Conception, 1627 Guido Reni  (Italian, Bolognese, 1575–1642) Oil on canvas

Saturday, December 8, 12:00 (noon)

Sung Latin Mass

in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Harry Neely, O.S.A.

It was fitting that the Word of God should become flesh in the womb of  the most perfect woman: the Blessed Virgin Mary; who, at the very moment of her conception by her parents, was also  sanctified  by the Holy Spirit. On December 8, come to St. John of the Cross in Lemon Grove and hear the ancient prophecies about Mary sung in the timeless tones of Gregorian chant.
